GST is rolling on July 1, but on Tuesday around 50,000 wholesale cloth shops were shut in Delhi in protest against it.
Shri Bhagwan Bansal, DHMA (Delhi Hindustani Merchantile Association) vice President and the Association of wholesale cloth traders, said that a nationwide strike of the cloth merchants, this will continue till Thursday to press for the exemption from the GST.There are thousand of cloths which were gathered at the Chandni Chowk and they raised their voice for the GST.
Shri Bhagwan Bansal said that the cloth merchants they are not acquainted with the GST regime. He also that why they are hurryingfor the implementation of the tax policy. Central Government is also not clear about its policy of the GST.
He said to the Government that if they don't accept the demand they will extend the protest for an indefinite period. He also said that cloth merchant across the country they are observing the 3 day nationwide strike.The Government has also announced that the tax of 12% on ready made garments, 5% of the yarn and fabric, cotton, 18% of the man made yarn they are under the GST.
